LINDEN — Mrs. Eva L. Evans, 76, died suddenly at 4 p.m. Wednesday at her home here. She had resided here the last five years and previously lived at Wingate. Born July 4, 1891 in Benton County, she was a daughter of John W. and Sarah E. Oldham Critser. She attended Benton County schools and was a member of the Christian Church at Oxford. She married Earl E. Evans in 1910. He died Oct. 5, 1954. Survivors include two brothers, Eli Critser of Oxford and Albert Critser of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Josephine Prather of Lafayette, and nieces and nephews. Preceding Mrs. Evans in death were a son and daughter, two brothers and four sisters. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Helms Funeral Chapel, Rev. Dale Wilson officiating, with burial in Linden Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. - kbz
